2011 has been a adventurous year. My family and I relocated to Tampa, FL and I left my post as Head Women's Basketball Coach at Queensborough Community College. It was hard to leave after five years and four consecutive CUNY Championships, being Regional Runner up, and on the brink of the National Tournament. We all have to make moves which we believe to be in the best interest of our families. This was a tough decision but one in which I believe will turn out for the best.
We wanted to have our family centered in faith and close to other family in time of their need. We've had the opportunity to do that with Grace Family Church www.gfconline.com in Tampa. I had the pleasure of meeting Tony Dungy who is a member of the Church and was there for the "Courageous" Dinner to deliver a speech on fellowship and living life with a purpose. He runs a great organization called Family First www.familyfirst.net which fosters the relationship between parents and their children. I very excited about becoming more involved.
I have also been invited to work back in the American Basketball Association for the Tampa Bay Rain. The upcoming team will begin play for the 2012-2013 season. I am working with former NBA player Tree Rollins who will be the Head Coach. We have begun our first tryout camp and things are looking optimistic. I look forward to the opportunity of helping build an organization from the ground up as well as being involved in the Tampa community.
